Game Objective

The main objective of Klondike is to move all 52 cards into four Foundation stacks, each corresponding to a suit, arranged in order from A to K.

Initial Arrangement

• A deck of 52 cards is divided into seven columns called the Tableau.
• The first column has 1 card, the second column has 2 cards, ... until the seventh column has 7 cards.
• In each column, only the bottom card is turned face up, the remaining cards are turned face down.
• The rest of the deck forms a pile, called the Stock.

Basic Rules

Players can turn over cards from the Stock stack (one card at a time or three cards at a time, depending on the variation).

In the Tableau columns, arrange the cards in descending order and alternating colors.

Only the K card can be placed in an empty column on the Tableau.

When a card is moved, if there is a face-down card underneath, it will be turned face up.

The A cards will be placed on the Foundation first, then continue to be arranged in ascending order of the same suit.

The game is won when all four Foundations are full from A to K.

Variations and difficulty

Klondike has many different versions such as:

• Draw 1: Draw 1 card at a time from the Stock - easy.
• Draw 3: Draw 3 cards at a time - normal.
