You and your opponent are each dealt 10 random cards, arranged in a set of three or four cards of the same value or a sequence of three or more consecutive cards of the same suit.
The remaining cards are called deadwood. You’ll want to get rid of as many of these as possible to lower your deadwood points.
You can choose your opponent’s card if you need it or draw a card from the adjacent pile to suit your strategy.
Whoever’s deadwood is below 10 points, that person can Knock.
If you’ve formed valid combinations with all 10 cards (no deadwood), declare Gin to win instantly.
Cards from 2-10 points are worth their points; A = 1 point; J,Q,K = 10 points
The player with the least deadwood wins. Whoever knocks first takes the points from the opponent’s deadwood.
Gin = automatic win + 25 bonus points.
